Language transcription services

A subset of translation services that clients occasionally require consists of bilingual transcription. This is where, say, you have an audio or video recording in French and you need a Word document containing an English translation of what is said in the recording.

If you require a quotation for transcription, please contact translation@french-linguistics.co.uk as for ordinary translation quotes, but please indicate at least the following:

• the format in which you have the recording;
• the approximate length in minutes;
• the nature of the recording (conference speech, meeting, training session etc);
• if available, the URL at which the audio/video file is available (if it is not available on the web, then this doesn't matter— arrangements will be made for you to send it in due course).

As audio and video files can be quite large, at this stage you are asked not to send the file by e-mail.

Transcription is generally charged according to the length in minutes of the recording. An indicative price would be around 150 USD (or 120 EUR) per 15 minutes of recording, but the exact price will depend on the nature of the recording in question.
